Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday (September 19, 2024), highlighted that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have regained faith in democracy, realizing that their vote holds the power to drive change. This renewed sense of empowerment, according to Mr. Modi, marks an essential step in their progress. The rally, held in support of BJP candidates at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, was his first for the assembly elections in Kashmir and his third visit to the region this year.
During his address, Mr. Modi reaffirmed the BJP's commitment to restoring Jammu and Kashmir's statehood and emphasized the government’s efforts in youth empowerment. He praised initiatives focused on skill development and employment opportunities without corruption, assuring that the BJP would follow through on its promises.
Prior to the rally, security in and around the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar was heightened with multiple layers of protection.
